Research Task #6

  1. Your goal today is to find resources and then take notes to answer your research questions with substantial information that you can use to prepare for your group presentation. Please take out your group collaboration research notes so that you know which questions that you need to answer today during your research.

  2. Each individual group member needs to keep a list of the sources that you use so that you can create an MLA works cited page to submit. Copy and paste website addresses and/or MLA citations for the sources that you find into a Word Document. Be sure to save this Word document into your network folder so that we can access it during class again tomorrow.
    Notes about your sources:

    • Each individual group member is responsible for finding and using at least 2 credible sources.

    • At least 1 of these sources needs to come from a library database. Mrs. Milloway has identified some databases that contain information relevant to our topics. They are listed here for our use: LIBGUIDE.

  3. On your index cards that you were required to bring to class today, please take relevant notes to answer your research questions. Be sure to follow the notetaking format we discussed in class. Here is a digital copy of the same c-notes that you have in your binder: NOTECARD FORMAT
    Notes about your notecards:

    • You may have multiple notecards from the same source depending on how many pieces of evidence you pull from each source.

    • Do NOT try to fit several different pieces of evidence onto the same card.

    • Bring these cards back to class tomorrow (Friday) so that we can add to them and begin to organize them. You will also need them Monday because we'll use them to begin preparing for your group presentation component.
